There is a false sense of control over a situation when we worry about it. And the thought of letting go of that worry would result in chaos. But the truth is, it doesn’t help at all. Jesus says “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Everyone deals with this, whether that be with finances, health issues, decisions, or family members. In the middle of it, it’s easy to magnify our problem instead of magnifying God.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? – Matthew 6:26
When we remember that the all-powerful God has the ability to provide anything that we need, AND that he has the desire to meet it, we can release our anxieties to him. Worry can weigh us down and cripple us from walking in the freedom that God has called us to.
The bigger God is to us, the smaller our problems are to us.
Scripture of the week – Matthew 6:33&34
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.
