Once a week is not enough.

The average person fills their car up at the gas station once per week. So often we treat our spiritual walk like we do our car, stopping by for an hour and a half for our weekly refill. But this is not what scripture teaches us.

Ephesians 5:18 says “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit

Be filled” doesn’t mean “one-time” or even “weekly.” It means let God fill you with His Spirit every moment of every day.
How do I know if I’m filled with the Holy Spirit? The Bible says the fruit (evidence of) the Holy Spirit is love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22).
Whatever spills out of you when you’re bumped will tell you what you’re full of.

So what happens when there is a difficult situation in your life? Do you respond with anger, bitterness, anxiety? Or do you overflow with the fruit of the Spirit? The good news is that being filled with the Spirit is not our own doing. It is a gift from God. He is the one who fills us. We simply have to receive it.Let us be committed to allowing God to fill us in every moment of every day, because we desperately need His Spirit’s power to walk in obedience and to accomplish His will.

Scripture of the week – Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
