|Jesus gives us clear understanding of what it looks like to follow him.
Mark 1:17 – Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.
Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Both of these scriptures reveal the purpose of every believer. But often times we can get caught up in the routine of life that we forget that purpose.
Here are 3 reasons why we drag our feet to sharing our faith.
1. Lack of desire
We’ve all been there, whatever the reason is. Thankfully, God doesn’t expect us to develop this on our own. We can ask God to give us the desire to see the lost saved, and to be used by Him to accomplish that. Pray and believe He will give you a heart for the lost!
2. No time
You might be struggling enough as it is trying to balance everything on your calendar. Remember, we don’t have to set aside a certain amount of hours every week to share the gospel. We can simply include other people in the things we already do, with the intention of sharing God’s love and grace to those around us. You DO have time if you are aware of the opportunities you have every day.
3. It’s an overwhelming task
“How can I make a difference in today’s society?” It can be very discouraging when we look at the whole picture. But the church can make a difference if all of us do our part. Who is 1 person that God has placed in your life for you to reach out to? Change happens one person at a time.
Scripture of the week – Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
