Intercessory Prayer

The Apostle Paul said in James 5:16b {KJV}, “…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” At Owasso First Assembly, we believe in the importance and power of prayer. We invite you to join us on Saturday evenings for a time of intercessory prayer. Intercession is defined as the act of interceding; mediation; prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another.

The Sanctuary will be open for Intercessory Prayer each Saturday evening from 5:30 – 7pm. The main foyer doors will be unlocked. Here is some additional information that you will want to know.

  • You can come and go as you wish.
  • There is no agenda or program – only prayer.
  • If you have a special need and would like someone to pray with you, ask for Larry or Sherryl Johnson. They will be available along with others to pray for you and your need.
  • Pray as you like: sit in the pew, kneel at the altar, kneel at the pew, walk around the Sanctuary as you pray pray quietly or exuberantly – above all, pray.
  • Should the Sanctuary be occupied with other activities during the normal Saturday night prayer time, Intercessory Prayer will be held upstairs in the Theater Room [221]. Take the elevator to the second floor. The room is on the North side of the Gym.

There are certain Saturdays on which there will be no Intercessory Prayer Meetings. The schedule of dates through the end of 2011 when Intercessory Prayer will not be held is as follows…

  • May 26th, 2012
  • September 1st, 2012
  • November 24th, 2012
  • December 22th, 2012
  • December 29th, 2012
